The Role
Financial Controller - Permanent
Location: Dublin 24
Reports to CFO
Office based for probation - hybrid 1/2 days after
The Financial Controller will take ownership of financial control, management reporting, statutory compliance and
commercial finance support for the group entities. The role will work closely with the CFO and wider Group finance
team to strengthen reporting discipline, support growth, improve systems and processes, and provide reliable
financial insight to business leaders.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for oversight of six entities across Ireland, the UK, Austria and Switzerland. and for monthly reporting.
Basic requirements:
• Prepare monthly management accounts within 7 working days of month-end
• Prepare commercial reports and performance analysis in the agreed format
• Maintaining tax reporting (including preparation of workings for returns)
• Deal with the auditors, professional advisors and tax agents of the group, including leading the annual audit
engagement for those entities within the group that you will be responsible for
Wider requirements:
• Dealing with technical accounting issues in
o Deferred Revenue Provisions / income recognition
o Equipment Sales Margin reporting
o Stock Accounting (large systems, parts and consumables)
• Commercial Financial Management
o Re-forecasting across the group where required.
o Budgeting (to the standard of integrated BS, P&L and CF models)
• Balance Sheet Accounting
o Full ownership of all entity Balance Sheets
o Accruals & Prepayments
o Stock
o Acquisition Accounting
o Consolidation Accounting
• Work with the current ERP and accounting systems to resolve challenges, simplify financial processes and support
ongoing systems improvement as part of the finance team.
o Within SAPB1 – participating in ongoing improvement in our use of systems
Onboarding new acquisitions
o Integrating the new entity
o Preparation / review of Completion Accounts
o Separate entity management accounts

• Group Developments
The Group is continuing to expand, through organic and acquisition strategies. There is an ongoing need to
adapt to the changing environment of the group, its entities, systems, reporting requirements and commercial
needs (in terms of profits, cashflow, capital, etc.).
o In this role you will be expected to be both adaptable to ongoing change as well as acting in a leadership role within
your area of responsibility.
o Assist in expanding and developing the role of the finance team within the Group
o Processes and team development

• Support new acquisition deal activity and onboarding

The Person
EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience (post-qualification)
• Qualified accountant, preferably ACA or ACCA.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience preparing financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong accounting software user and administration skills.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• Excellent numerical skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy with numbers.
• Computer literacy and a high level of Excel expertise is essential.
• Experience in a finance or administration role using business systems; ERP experience such as SAP or Oracle is preferable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task, work independently and effectively organise and prioritise workload.
• Proactive, hands-on approach to learning.
