The Role

Financial Controller - Permanent, Dublin 15

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join our Finance Department on a full-time permanent contract. This role will be responsible for overseeing the financial function of the business by ensuring continued business growth and driving profitability while managing the day-to-day duties of the department to include the generation of accurate and timely reports.


• Responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management and overall performance of the Finance team
• Ensure the Finance team are engaged and motivated whilst delivering exceptional standards by meeting strict timelines as required by the business
• Responsible for carrying out annual performance reviews and assist staff in designing and implementing training and development programs
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial systems
• Manage the monthly nominal journal while ensuring that monthly paid employees are costed to the appropriate jobs and/or overheads
• Oversee the costings of the Company credit cards and provide support where issues may arise
• Oversee bank payments and provide approvals where required
• Manage the monthly pension returns and reconciliations while acting as the first point of contact for any queries that may arise from these providers
• Manage bank mandates and act as the point of contact for any potential queries
• Handle any management queries relating to the costs within jobs
• Regularly review and update the costings rates on the Operations Costings Spreadsheet
• Build and develop models to predict and track project financial performance to include:

 Deliver high-quality reports within a timely manner
 Monthly management accounts
 Trading and project level analysis
 Overhead analysis
 Short and long-term cash flow analysis

• Work closely with the Commercial, Operations & wider teams
• Ensure risks, opportunities, and contingencies are fully reported
• Deliver statutory reporting, audit and tax reporting requirements
• Ensure books of account are properly maintained and that all key reconciliations are carried out on a timely basis
• Stay up to date with relevant accounting, regulatory and other developments that impact the Group
• Exercise strong control over collections and payments in line with Group policy and financial controls
• Approve weekly and monthly payroll and supply chain payments in line with short term and long-term cash flow projections
• Take an active role in the preparation of the annual budget by providing financial information, analysis and commentary
• Ensure full compliance with tax reporting and payment requirements
• Undertake and deliver ad-hoc projects i.e. new systems, processes and controls
• Act as a brand ambassador and lead the Company through its ongoing expansion
• Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business


The Person

• Degree qualified with an accountancy qualification
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within the industry at senior management level
• Proven leadership capabilities with demonstrable experience of leading a Finance team and meeting reporting standards
• Must be a member of a professional accounting body


• Construction related experience would be advantageous
• Exceptional technical accounting skills with strong business acumen
• Organised and adaptable with excellent attention to detail
• Deadline orientated approach
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluent English
