The Role

Assistant Accountant 

Dublin 24 - Fixed Term Contract

Salary: €40,000

Start Date: August 2020

 

My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant to cover a fixed term contract.

 

The successful candidate will need be IATI qualified or studying towards a professional qualification.

A minimum of 4 years relevant accounts experience and strong Excel skills are required

Experience using SAP would be a distinct advantage

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable processing
  • Processing vendor invoices
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders (POs)
  • Monitoring outstanding POs
  • Checking invoice and PO coding
  • Validate employee expenses via Concur – checking coding, mileage claims, etc.
  • Provide BIK info on mileage expenses to HR
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end accounts, e.g. accruals, Journals, VAT, COGS, Intrastat
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliations on key Balance Sheet control accounts
  • Monthly tracking of Product Spend (Yellow Sheets) – actuals v. Budget across the product portfolio
  • Monthly tracking of overhead expenditure across the business – actuals v. Budget
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Assisting Financial Controller on monthly basis and at year end accounts audit
  • Preparation of data on payments to HCPs & HCOs for external reporting in line with EFPIA requirements
  • Participation in Finance projects as required by the Head of Finance & Business Operations and/or Financial Controller
  • Completion of annual Form 46G to Revenue
  • To undertake a range of activities in support of the Finance function as required by the Head of Finance & Business Operations and/or Financial Controller

The Person

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in an accounts environment
  • IATI or equivalent qualification required
  • Good knowledge of Accounting and of accounts systems is required
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
  • A methodical approach to completing tasks with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work on a variety of tasks concurrently in an effective manner
  • Ability to prioritise important tasks and manage time effectively
  • Interpersonal skills to work well within a team environment
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Positive attitude to change
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
