The Role

KEY TASKS 

  • Key member of the local Senior Leadership Team, identifies and analyses business requirements and the implications of same
  • Responsible for all external statutory reporting and internal financial reporting requirements of the company
  • Responsible for internal operational business reporting to enable performance monitoring planning and development of the business in line with strategy;
  • Co-ordination and completion of month end close management information, US parent group reporting information and US GAAP adjustments
  • Sole responsibility for integrity of financial statements – transaction posting to general ledger, cost centre hierarchy and general ledger account maintenance, reporting accuracy, balance sheet and financial controls
  • Ensures regional fiscal compliance in all areas of taxation including but not limited to VAT/VIES/Intrastat returns, payroll taxes  and corporation tax;
  • Management of credit control function to deliver improved collections, working capital and manage credit risk;
  • Delivery of SOX compliance in the  financial reporting environment including but not limited to completion of SOX audits and monitoring and control of the same;
  • Main contact with bankers and auditors as necessary;
  • Administration of company secretarial matters in territory to ensure all aspects of company registrations are met and reported as necessary;
  • Leads a team of Finance associates including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control functions
  • Manages all aspects of team administration, development and recruitment to include interviews, training, performance appraisals and attendance amongst other areas;
  • Reviews and approves payroll runs to ensure accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned

The Person

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Business degree and qualified Accountant with two to three years proven experience in a similar role in a multinational or a large company environment
  • Proven experience of working through complex financial issues with little direction
  • Previous people management experience
  • IT Literate – Lotus Notes, SAP, Athena, Qlikview and Workday
  • Numerate, accurate and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills and leads team by example
