The Role

Senior Tax Analyst
Location: Co. Kildare 

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Tax Analyst to join a busy and collaborative finance team. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will play a key role in managing corporate tax compliance, tax reporting, indirect tax obligations and providing tax support across the wider business. This position offers exposure to a broad range of tax matters while working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare corporation tax computations, tax returns and current/deferred tax calculations.
• Prepare tax disclosures and supporting documentation for annual statutory financial statements.
• Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure timely completion of tax reporting requirements.
• Prepare and post tax journals and support the annual budgeting process from a tax perspective.
• Manage corporate tax compliance including:
o Preliminary tax calculations
o Form 46G submissions
o Transfer Pricing documentation
o R&D Tax Credit claims
• Prepare and submit indirect tax returns including:
o VAT
o PSWT
o RCT
o VIES
o Intrastat
o Annual VAT RTD
• Ensure all tax filings and payments are completed accurately and within statutory deadlines.
• Support Revenue Enhanced Reporting Requirements for employee benefits and non-taxable expenses.
• Provide tax advice across the business on areas including acquisitions, restructures, joint ventures and financing arrangements.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of tax policies, procedures and the Group Tax Risk Register.
• Support tax compliance reviews and maintain a strong tax control environment in line with Revenue requirements.
• Monitor changes in Irish tax legislation and communicate impacts across the business.
• Deliver tax training and guidance to finance and operational teams where required.
• Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day tax queries across the business.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, Revenue and external advisors.

The Person

• Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification is essential.
• Level 8 Honours Degree in Accountancy, Business or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish tax legislation and tax compliance.
• Previous Big 4 experience would be an advantage.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced using ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Experience with Power BI and AlphaTax is advantageous.
• Professional Accountancy Qualification is desirable.
• Experience within the renewable energy or utilities sector is beneficial but not essential.
