The Role

Senior Financial Accountant - Permanent  HYBRID

Kinnegad, Westmeath

4 days in the office and one WFH.

Reporting to the Financial Controller the role will be a key link between finance and the wider business as well as supporting the existing finance team in delivering our core obligations.

Areas of Accountability


Business analysis
o Customer and product profitability analysis
o Third party haulage analysis
o Cost analysis including cost creep
o Post completion analysis of large capital projects
Reporting
o Lead on standardisation of reporting across divisional business units
o Utilise full suite of systems to provide quick and accurate financial information
o Assist Financial Director in Divisional reporting for Managing Director and Group team
o Manage the Capex reporting requirements of the business
Internal Control
o Manage the business’s internal control systems
o Key point of contact for the Group Internal Audit team
o Work with the finance team and wider business to ensure business is compliant at all times
Finance Team Support
o Assist the finance team with core responsibilities such as Month End, Forecasting, Budgets and statutory Audits
o Provide cover to the Financial Accountant role when required
Integrated Finance System
o The Group is undertaking a major overhaul of its Financial systems. This role will be a key stakeholder and point of contact for that project
Ad hoc project work and any other duties a required by the business

The Person

The Senior Financial Accountant will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with minimum 3 years post qualification experience. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong attention to detail, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of information. They should demonstrate effective written communication skills, capable of communicating with stakeholders across various levels and functions within the organization and possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft excel (in particular) as well as Word and PowerPoint. The candidate should exhibit initiative, be able to work independently and meet deadlines while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Finally the candidate should have a inquisitive mind who enjoys finding solutions to problems and who has a key understanding of what adding value means and how to deliver it.
