The Role

Title: Part Time Management Accountant
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Naas, Co Kildare

Purpose of Job:
To assist in the management accounts
To assist in preparation of the monthly Flash forecast & Management accounts,

Management accounts and other accounting issues:

Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
To assist in ensuring monthly management accounts are produced accurately and in line with the predetermined timescales set by group with a view to improving on the deadlines set
Responsible for ensuring that balance sheet nominal codes are reconciled monthly
Responsible for the maintenance of the purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger, and fixed asset register
Assists in preparation of interim and year end audit packs incorporating the companies accounting policies to include production of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors and taxation consultants
Ad hoc accounts support
Assists in ensuring any intercompany balances are kept up to date and agreed
Other duties and special projects as required by the Managing Director

Procedures:
Ensure compliance with group authorisation policies
Awareness and overview of all IT systems and procedures and changes thereto

Risk management:
Ensure that there are systems to validate the existence of all hire fleet, other fixed assets, and inventory. This will include ensuring adequate inspection procedures are in place for assets on long-term hire. This will include the introduction and development of audit procedures

Other:
Any other duties as required by senior management
Be aware of Health & Safety always
Refer requirement for disciplinary actions upwards before any action
Alert senior management to significant problems in good time

 

 

The Person

Analytical mindset, with an excellent attention to detail
Comfortable with Financial and Management Accounts
Excellent Excel skills a strong advantage. Sage 50 a pre requisite
Knowledge of how data is stored, queried, and manipulated – (Extract, Transform, Load)
Self-motivated individual, with a strong desire to develop the finance function and the wider business
Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial team members
Willing to challenge the status quo bringing fresh ideas to the finance function and the business with demonstrable ability to work under pressure
Rapidly build cross-functional relationships, quickly building trust and credibility across the business, creating a culture of strong financial discipline to allow for continued business agility
Engage with business leaders to ensure clear and transparent communication and financial understanding across the senior leadership team
