The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director and Group Finance, you will be responsible for the Finance function. You will be required to support our business development strategy in collaboration with the Management team. The role offers significant scope for advancement as the company continues to grow.
The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the management of the Finance function, in addition to providing input into the operation of the business. You will communicate and work alongside the various departments  improving the control environment, developing the reporting structure and assist with forecasting.

Responsibilities
Management of the accounting function, along with the company accounting staff.
Prepare monthly management accounts and other operational information on a regular basis. Interpret the company's financial results to management and make appropriate recommendations.
Monitoring gross margins/contributions with focus on optimising sales mix.
Generate the necessary financial information that will highlight profit potential and/or inefficiencies. Monitor working capital management, with particular focus on inventory, credit management, and cashflow.
Focus on cost control and lean principles with target of improving site efficiency.
Reporting on KPI’s/
Ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Cash management, including monthly cashflow forecasts, focusing on debtor and creditor payments. Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and investment requirements.
Preparation of rolling & annual budget for the business.
Responsibility for liaising with auditor and professional advisors. Complete all regulatory reporting to statutory bodies.
Serve as a champion of innovation and continuous improvement efforts within the business.
Manage external relationships and ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures.
Ad Hoc projects when assigned.

 

 

The Person

Candidate Profile
Qualified Accountant with 3 years post qualification experience as a Financial/Company Accountant in a similar position.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with relevant accounting software (e.g. SAGE 200 MRP).
A strong working knowledge of core accounting principles and functions and reporting obligations. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
Commercial acumen and sound judgement.
Well organised and able to prioritise work to meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal with good presentation ability.
Previous people management experience is a requirement.
Adaptability and resilience with high standards of accountability.
