The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the credit control function with responsibilities as below;
Reporting
• Reporting weekly to key sales representatives and business management on the overall debt position of the business.
• Reporting on and engaging with the business regarding customers which are not compliant with credit terms or payment schedules.
• Reporting monthly KPI’s to the CFO in line with agreed deadlines.
• Reviewing master data reports to ensure that customer setup and maintenance is accurate and up to date.
• Must be capable of generating reports in Excel to report different aspects of the business debt.
• Report on weekly cash collection v’s targets.
• Review and assessment of bad debt provision on a monthly basis for each ledger.

Customer Care
Capable of engaging with customer to resolve queries.
• Revieing of debt history of customers and recommend remedial actions to bring debt back within terms.
• Implement payment plans ensuring effective monitoring and management of same.

Accounts
• Actively chase all trade debt, ensure overdue debt is kept to a minimum.
• Monitoring of weekly standing orders ensuring early detection of non-payment.
• Efficient, timely and accurate allocation of receipts against debtors outstanding balances.
• Participate in the completion and updating of cash flow forecasts.
• Chase all new standing order forms for new hires of equipment.
• Reconciliation of invoices and remittance advice notes as required.
• Post bank accounts daily and complete bank reconciliations in line with agreed timelines.
• Monitoring standing order setup for new customers.
• Put accounts on stop, advise service team not to service if payments are not up to date.
• Advise sales reps and customers of same as soon as identified.
• All requested copy invoices and statements to be issued to customers or other staff members, or issued as normal on a monthly basis.
• Ensure escalation procedures are followed for non-payers and agreed actions are documented and implemented.
• Review and update processes where necessary, with a view to making them more efficient.
• Set up of new customer accounts in relevant systems.
• Credit checking process as per customer set up procedures.

Administrative
• Implement meeting structure with sales reps to ensure effective communication and agreed actions are executed in a timely manner.
• Ensuring effective and efficient management of filing, liaising with Auditors and other third parties.
• Responsible for the engagement of Debt Collections Agencies ensuring efficient processing and management of “problem debt”.
• When necessary assist on general administration and office duties when holidays are taking place.
• Ad-hoc requests from management to assist with effective credit management.

Systems
• Ensure customer data is consistent and up to date for customers across all systems, including Sage, Protean and Salesforce.
• Work with a systematic approach in all aspect of Credit Control ensure effective records are maintained to ensure reviews of customer accounts is efficient.
• Ensure effective and timely escalation of credit control issues to CFO and suggesting solutions for the specific issues.
• Take the lead from a Credit Management perspective for systems upgrade/implementation.
• Implement and/or develop effective processes to improve the credit control process

The Person

The person;
• Ideally 5 years + experience in a similar with people management experience.
• Experience in dealing with € and £ transactions.
• Has worked previously with intercompany transfers.
• Excellent knowledge of SAGE and PROTEAN.
• Completing or interested in completing an accounting technician course.
• Excellent knowledge of excel.
