Our client is seeking an experienced Audit Senior / Accounting Senior to join their growing Kildare-based practice.

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries. Reporting to Director/Partner level, the successful candidate will work as part of an established and collaborative team while also managing and mentoring junior and trainee staff.

The position would suit a qualified accountant with strong practice experience who enjoys managing client relationships, leading audit assignments and taking ownership of a varied portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audit assignments across a variety of industries, ensuring engagements are appropriately planned and key risks and challenges are identified.
  • Take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients and ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Draft and review financial statements and audit reports, providing practical recommendations in relation to risks and control weaknesses.
  • Manage multiple audit assignments simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are achieved.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing a professional and value-added service.
  • Keep Partners and Managers updated on key issues, risks and progress throughout assignments.
  • Deliver audit assignments in accordance with FRS 102, Irish GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage resources effectively across assignments to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Provide guidance, training and mentorship to junior and trainee team members.
  • Support the ongoing development and performance of the wider team.

The Person

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' practical experience within a similar accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP, FRS 102 and Companies Act 2014.
  • Strong audit and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of audit-related risks and internal controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior team members would be advantageous.
