Our client is seeking an experienced Audit Senior / Accounting Senior to join their growing Kildare-based practice.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries. Reporting to Director/Partner level, the successful candidate will work as part of an established and collaborative team while also managing and mentoring junior and trainee staff.
The position would suit a qualified accountant with strong practice experience who enjoys managing client relationships, leading audit assignments and taking ownership of a varied portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage audit assignments across a variety of industries, ensuring engagements are appropriately planned and key risks and challenges are identified.
- Take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients and ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Draft and review financial statements and audit reports, providing practical recommendations in relation to risks and control weaknesses.
- Manage multiple audit assignments simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing a professional and value-added service.
- Keep Partners and Managers updated on key issues, risks and progress throughout assignments.
- Deliver audit assignments in accordance with FRS 102, Irish GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Manage resources effectively across assignments to ensure efficient delivery.
- Provide guidance, training and mentorship to junior and trainee team members.
- Support the ongoing development and performance of the wider team.
The Person
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' practical experience within a similar accountancy practice environment.
- Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP, FRS 102 and Companies Act 2014.
- Strong audit and financial reporting experience.
- Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines.
- Strong understanding of audit-related risks and internal controls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior team members would be advantageous.
