Payroll / Accounts Administrator

Salary: €40,000 - €45,000
Office Based
My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll / Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis.
Candidates will need to have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role
Candidates must have a strong payroll background and be proficient in processing end to end payroll
Experience using Bright pay, Sage Line 50 and Excel are a distinct advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly Payroll
- Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payroll for employees using current manual timesheet system.
- Ensuring all payments, deductions, BIK are made as required including pension contributions and other deductions.
- Processing and payment of employee expenses.
Accounts Payable
- Issuing Purchase Orders as required
- Set up new suppliers/supplier amendments on Sage.
- Preparing and processing of supplier payments on a weekly and monthly basis as required.
- Management of Credit Cards including reconciliation of receipts and posting transactions.
- Reconcile suppliers balances to statements
Monthly Management Accounts
- Ensuring debtors/creditors balances agree with monthly trial balance.
- Month end internal controls and reconciliations.
- Daily bank postings and weekly bank reconciliations.
- Compliance responsibilities
- Preparing tax returns on a timely basis i.e. Intrastat, VIES, VAT and PAYE.
- CSO Returns – payroll related
- Assisting with general administration duties as required and dealing with suppliers, etc.
- Assist with future process improvements including migration from Sage to new accounting software
- Other ad hoc or project work as required by the Financial Controller
The Person
Key Skills:
- At least 3+ years’ relevant experience
- Strong payroll experience and understanding of accounting procedures.
- Third level qualification or accounting technician qualification (or equivalent) desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and finance systems. Sage50 experience a bonus.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
- Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented highly organised individual.
- An effective team player, who demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to follow through to completion of tasks.
