The Role

Senior Financial Accountant
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department on a full time permanent contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial function of the business to include the implementation of new and innovative systems and procedures which will support our continuous growth forecast.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
A broad role which will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Finance function, playing a crucial part in the development and improvement of procedures, implementing a new ERP system while supporting and strengthening the wider Finance Team. This role is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and driven Finance professional as progression opportunities within the business will be available for the right candidate.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Preparation of monthly management accounts to include completion and review of all balance sheet reconciliations, full review of business overheads, highlighting detailed commentary on variance analysis and developing key performance indicators
Support the delivery of monthly and quarterly financial forecasts and annual budgets
Work with the Finance and IT Project Team to scope out a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system while overseeing the testing and training phase prior to its planned implementation in the 2024 financial year
Assist in the supervision of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables and Payroll teams
Contribute to the Finance function’s objective of improving the quality of financial analysis that is provided to the business and the wider Group
Lead in the preparation of the annual audit file, liaise with the auditors to ensure the audit is completed in a timely manner
Ensure that statutory tax returns and other statistical data submissions are completed diligently and filed within the defined timelines
Provide financial support to our Midwest Division
Support the Finance team by completing any ad hoc duties as they arise

 

The Person

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Possession of a professional accounting body membership
A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a fast paced environment
Construction or Project Accounting experience an advantage however not essential
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel and experience of using accounting package software would be advantageous
Excellent analytical ability with exceptional numeracy and data entry skills
Conscientious with a high attention to detail and an ability to multitask
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
Motivated self-starter, who can work both independently or as part of a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluent English
