Finance Assistant

Leixlip – Fixed Term Contract (9-12 Months)

Salary: €40,000 - €45,000

Hybrid Possibility after Probation


My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Assistant to cover a fixed term contract of 9-12 months. Candidate will need to have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.


Experience within a manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage

Strong Systems and Excel skills are required for this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Running monthly payroll for ROI based employees (150 employees)
  • Monthly Sales customer, product, margin analysis
  • Production facility analysis
  • Project costs tracking and analysis
  • Standard cost updating and tracking
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review
  • Processing monthly VAT reconciliations
  • Assisting with Year End Audit
  • Implement improvement opportunities (credit card expenses, bank payments processing, AP invoice automation)
  • Process data in accordance with documented procedures and controls – may include same day & intra account payments, posting of journals
  • Responsible for daily reconciliations and posting transactions
  • Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial/management accounts
  • Assist with the delivery of analytical support and management of information. Assist with any ad hoc requests as required
  • Adhere to robust financial controls in compliance with Group Standards, statutory and regulatory requirement and the risk and control framework. Maintain procedure notes, ensuring they are up to date and fit for purpose
  • Identify and agree improvements to existing processes and procedures which will assist with the Companies aim of seeking continuous improvements
  • Administering payments for invoices, monthly payment runs and clearing all invoices when approved
  • Monitoring daily communications for Accounts Payable and Receivables and answering any queries in a prompt manner
  • Monitoring company/department financial transactions and controlling budgets
  • Preparing financial reports on companies’ performance using accounting software, such as Microsoft Excel or other tools as required

The Person

Key Skills:

  • Minimum AAT qualified and/or degree in Accounting/Finance OR
  • Already studying towards a recognised professional accounting or other relevant qualification
  • At least 3 years relevant experience within a Finance environment
  • Practical experience of accounting & payroll
  • Experience using accounting software systems
