The Role

Accountant

Co. Kildare

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting business decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts.
  • Monitor and track business expenses and financial transactions.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial reports and provide analysis to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
  • Assist with audits and liaise with external advisors when required.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in financial reporting and general accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and expense management.
  • Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Desirable

  • Experience in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory, retail, or e-commerce accounting.
  • Experience supporting business growth and process improvements.
