The Role

Leinster Appointments is currently recruiting for a Buying Administrator in Co. Kildare

Permanent, full time role

After probation, the role will become hybrid (2 days at home)

 

Main duties:

  • Source materials and packaging required by the business from approved suppliers
  • Support the sourcing of new raw materials (NRMs), ensuring timelines are met to support successful project delivery
  • Maintain the NRM tracker and associated workflows, liaising with the NPD team to ensure all new raw materials used in product development comply with customer codes of practice, supplier policies, EU legislation, and internal requirements
  • Proactively address risk management issues to minimise potential disruptions to supply
  • In collaboration with cross-functional teams, introduce new suppliers and/or rationalise the existing supply base to drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising material quality
  • Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with both existing and new suppliers
  • Work alongside SCM to manage, monitor, and evaluate supplier lead times and performance, taking corrective action where necessary, while strengthening key supplier relationships
  • Partner with the Procurement team to review forecasts and contracts and, in line with governance and delegation of authority, secure additional raw materials as required
  • Ensure full compliance with all company policies and achievement of agreed KPIs

The Person

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the food industry
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment is advantageous
  • A third-level qualification in Business or a related discipline is desirable
  • Knowledge of the food industry is desirable
  • Proven experience in sourcing and supplier management is essential
  • Strong negotiation, organisational, and time management skills
  • Excellent planning and analytical abilities
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to change
  • Capable of prioritising tasks and making sound business decisions
  • Customer-focused, with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
