Accounts Payable Manager

Salary: €60,000 - €65,000
Office Based Initially - Hybrid working after probation
My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable Manager on a permanent basis.
Along with strong people management skills, candidates will need to have a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
Experience using Business Central would be a distinct advantage
Candidates will need to have strong Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full AP cycle, from invoice receipt to payment.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
- Reconciling accounts to supplier statements on a regular basis to ensure accounts are kept up to date.
- Monitor outstanding payables and manage cash flow accordingly.
- Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate recording of AP transactions, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices, payments, or vendor terms.
Internal controls:
- Ensure internal controls are sufficient to prevent against fraud and error.
- Continuously assess existing processes to identify control gaps, compliance risks, and improvement opportunities.
System and process improvement:
- Implement and enhance AP processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Utilise accounting software and ERP systems to support automation.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations, including documentation of procedures.
Team leadership and development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs of the AP team.
- Take corrective action if objectives or KPIs are not being met.
- Train new staff and provide ongoing support to existing team members.
The Person
Key Skills:
- 5–7 years’ experience in accounts payable or accounting roles, including at least 5 years in a management capacity.
- Demonstrated experience transforming and improving AP functions.
- Good organisation, someone self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central advantageous.
