Senior Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering
- Collaborate closely with commercial and operational teams to provide strategic financial insights.
- Deliver value-added analysis to drive divisional and company-wide performance.
- Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
- Lead or support business-critical projects and initiatives.
Financial Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis.
- Prepare accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and external audits.
- Drive improvements and standardisation across reporting processes and outputs.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead and support the annual budgeting and regular forecasting processes.
- Assist in long-term planning and financial modelling to support strategic decisions.
- Deliver data-driven insights to inform business performance and planning.
Cash & Working Capital Management
- Prepare and monitor short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Analyse and manage key working capital components including inventory, receivables, and payables.
- Oversee day-to-day financial transactions and manage banking relationships.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure ongoing compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Support internal control reviews and external audit processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiencies in systems and reporting.
- Contribute to wider business improvement and transformation projects.

The Person
Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3+ years’ post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a commercial or operational finance role, ideally within a distribution, services, or similar sector.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP or financial systems is advantageous.
