The Role

 

 Finance Manager - Permanent

 

A privately owned European Freight Forwarding company is looking for a Finance Manager to join their North Dublin HQ. A small, centralised team oversee the accounts function for the entire organisation.
The Finance Manger will report to and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer. They will supervise the other members of the accounts team and be the day-to-day support for these members. Experience in the Freight industry is a distinct advantage but not a necessity. Note this is predominantly an office-based role.

 

Key Responsibilities
• Month end reporting including P&L, Balance sheet and KPI analysis.
• Reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts.
• Supervision of the accounts payable and receivables functions.
• Daily, weekly, monthly banking and cash management.
• Ongoing currency planning and management.
• Year end audit preparation and liaising with external auditors.
• Filing of revenue returns VAT, VIES, RTD etc.
• Monitoring and supervision of customs Vat & Duty payments and control accounts.
• Reconciliation of departmental operational reports.
• Annual budget preparation in collaboration with management from other departments.
• Analysis and cost projection modelling of new projects and opportunities for the Group.
• Asses the current processes, systems and reporting structures for improvements and time savings.

 

The Person

Skills and Attributes
• Highly motivated.
• Skilled in organising, prioritising, and scheduling.
• Ability to multi-task and meet Logistic deadlines.
• Problem solving skills in a crisis.
• Hands on attitude, which may involve assisting colleagues with tasks if necessary.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheet software.
• Working knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
• Working knowledge of industry recognised accounting packages.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• A recognised accounting qualification / Part Qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role and environment.

• Holidays 20 days initially but extra days awarded for service up to 25.
• It will be office based initially but once the person is bedded in there may be a hybrid working option of 1 – 2 days at home per week.
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week, start time 8am or 9am or a mix – we can discuss.
