The Role

Company Accountant

Maynooth - Permanent

Salary: €45,000 - €50,000

Office Based

 

My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Company Accountant on a full time permanent basis.

This person will have full responsibility for Finance function whilst liaising with the external accountant

A good knowledge of Excel is required for this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Management Accounts
  • Monitor and report on revenue performance of each department on a weekly basis and cost margin analysis on a monthly basis
  • Introduce KPI’s for various departments to monitor plans and progress
  • Introduce a weekly/monthly cash flow system leading into advice on working capital
  • Liaise with company auditors on preparation of audited accounts
  • Proactive in cost control management throughout the company
  • Prepare, maintain & update a Fixed Asset Register
  • All Revenue Returns to include PAYE, VAT, Interstat, Vies etc.
  • All statutory returns and forms
  • Weekly Payroll (Bright Pay) & Bank Reconciliations
  • Supervision of vehicle sales processing
  • Credit Control/Debtor Control on a daily basis
  • Ensure accuracy of accounts payable and receivable
  • Creditor reconciliations and payments
  • Administration of funding applications and grant claims
  • Management & staff expense account analysis
  • Responsible for the day to day running of a busy office
  • Provide cover in all areas of finance operations when required

The Person

Key Skills:

  • Part Qualified Accountant / IATI Qualified or Qualified by experience
  • Previous experience in the role of financial accountant is essential
  • Strong computer analytical skills including full suite of Microsoft products
  • Willingness to assist in other areas when required to do so
  • Applicants must have a proven track record in financial administration
  • Strict attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
  • Proactive approach and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be highly organised with efficient time management
  • Be able to work as part of a team and should possess good people management skills
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
