Part Time Assistant Accountant
Maynooth – Permanent Part Time
Hours: 20-25 hours per week (Client is flexible on how these are worked)
Salary: €20 - €25 per hour
Office Based for Probation – Possibility of Hybrid after this
My client is seeking to appoint a Part Time Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis.
Candidates will need to have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience using Sage Cloud and Excel would be a distinct advantage
Candidates must have experience RCT & Subcontractors Administration
Key Responsibilities
Daily Company Finances
- Input daily financial activity across multiple companies.
- Maintain accurate ledgers, reconciliations, and financial records in Sage Cloud.
- Liaise with the Finance Lead and external Accountant to ensure timely reporting and compliance.
RCT (Relevant Contracts Tax)
- Set up RCT contracts on ROS.
- Run RCT payment submissions through ROS.
- Ensure all subcontractor payments are compliant and processed within required timelines.
Accounts Payable (Creditors)
- Review and input supplier invoices into Sage Cloud,
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Process staff expense sheets and ensure accurate posting.
Accounts Receivable (Debtors)
- Prepare and issue sales invoices across multiple companies.
- Allocate payments in Sage Cloud and maintain accurate debtor balances.
- Perform credit control duties, including follow‑ups and query resolution.
- Maintain and update monthly Claim Spreadsheets (Excel):
- Review claims
- Mark as paid (value, date)
- Update the Claims Master Spreadsheet
Banking & Reconciliations
- Complete bank reconciliations for each company.
- Allocate receipts and payments accurately.
- Support cashflow monitoring and forecasting.
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns for multiple companies.
- Ensure compliance with Revenue requirements and internal controls.
Payroll
- Knowledge of payroll process
Month-End & Year-End Support
- Assist in preparation of month‑end management accounts.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for year‑end accounts.
- Work closely with the accountant to ensure timely completion of year‑end processes.
General Finance & Administration
- Maintain bookkeeping to Trial Balance stage.
- Support general office administration and ad hoc finance duties.
The Person
Key Skills:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounts or bookkeeping role.
- Experience managing multiple company accounts simultaneously
- Strong understanding of accounting procedures and payroll.
- Accounting Technician qualification (or equivalent) desirable but not essential.
- Strong IT skills including Sage Cloud, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and Co-pilot
