The Role

HR Regional Manager 

Location: Leinster/South area 





  • Support managers and the wider HR team in all Human Resources functions and activities – e.g. contract drafting, absence management including Covid 19, performance management, career development, succession planning.
  • Provide hands on support to sites and give expert employment law advice on those areas of industrial and employment relations that arise on a daily basis.
  • Build relationships and work closely with the Site Union reps/Employee Forums, building on those working relationships to improve employee relations.
  • Where appropriate, conduct or oversee investigations, disciplinary hearings, appeals and grievances and communicate relevant issues to Head of HR and Ireland Operations Manager. • Assist HR team on sites with all employment matters, including the preparation of WRC Hearing’s.
  • Hold education sessions to improve line manager’s knowledge on recruitment skills, employment law, sickness and absence, performance management, equal opportunities and team building/motivation.  Train, develop and coach your stakeholders to operate to best practice standards.
  • Maintaining effective communications with all members of the operational management, stakeholders and HR teams.
  • Work alongside operational management and the Head of HR in producing a comprehensive manpower and resource plan for both permanent and temporary labour, dealing with peaks and troughs of site activity as required.
  • Liaise with the recruitment and L&D function within the Group to develop strategies on attracting, retaining and developing candidates in the most cost-effective way.
  • Manage high volume recruitment projects, including international recruitment / sourcing campaigns and permit application process.
  • Assist sites and HR teams with the co-ordination of the graduate intake of young managers and constantly look for ways to attract top talent into the business.
  • Manage multiple projects and any given time, ensuring commitment to excellent services and experiences for both candidates and internal stake holders.
  • Work with the Head of HR by regularly reviewing pay, reward and recognition strategies in line with production targets, market trends, technology and equipment investment etc.
  • Ensure all legal compliance is in place regarding contracts, terms of service, policies, company handbooks and all other relevant documentation.
  • Develop a system of work to capture, record, and manage all forms of absence within your region.
  • Coach, mentor and educate your team to become more well-rounded HR Practitioners in terms of HR best practice standards.
  • Comply with all HR ethical audit requirements as driven by our customers and work towards developing a framework to train and develop each category of employee to reach their maximum potential.
  • Participating in PR events, recruitment fairs and other such occasions to promote the profile of the company and develop our reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Work closely with site Operations Management and L&D function on succession planning, drafting of PDPs and coaching management through change and career development. To ensure all employees have clearly defined roles and key management are following through on their SMART objectives, including regular reviews and feedback in line with the HRIS across the Group.
  • Drive the employee engagement agenda at each site focusing on communication, motivation and initiatives by setting up focus groups, works councils, utilising the intranet, notice boards, etc. as appropriate to ensure that company initiatives are fully understood and implemented.
  • Represent the HR team on the CSR / Sustainability agenda across any relevant forums and partake in any work as assigned from time to time.
  • Become a ‘Champion’ of the Human Resources Information System (CoreHR) driving its utilisation for all HR related data in line with best practice under Data Protection guidelines.

The Person

  • Minimum of 3--5 years' HR experience or similar role
  • Third level qualification in HR or relevant discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Employment Legislation
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of successfully working in a professional, fast, outcome orientated/target driven environment
  • Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills, with the ability to work off own initiative.
  • Wide knowledge of Human Resources principles, processes and procedures;
  • Flexible to travel nationally and internationally as required
  • Experience working with CoreHR would be an advantage
  • Ability to work with and drive change amongst a diverse group of people
  • Eager to learn and develop
  • Polished and professional approach when representing the company
  • Knowledge of the Permit Process regarding Non-EU/EEA workers would be an advantage • Previous managerial experience would be an advantage
  • Full Clean Driving Licence.
