The Role

Group Reporting Accountant

Hybrid Role ( 3 Days Based in the Office)

Permanent Opportunity

 

Reporting to and working with the Group Financial Controller, this is a key role within the finance department with the main objective being the preparation of the monthly/quarterly/annual reporting including the consolidation process. The Group Reporting Accountant will be flexible and will work within the team to support all areas.

Main Duties
• Management of the external audit process, including group and statutory audits, liaising closely with the external auditors
• Ownership and detailed review of Group and Statutory Financial Statements
• Management of all external reporting – quarterly deliverables to key stakeholders and bank covenant reporting
• Manage the preparation of monthly financial reports for senior management and the Board that highlight key issues that need addressing by management
• Standardise the processes and reporting of the group companies for consolidation purposes and systemise the consolidation process
• Complete the monthly/quarterly/annual consolidations
• Adopt appropriate accounting policies for the group and prepare technical papers in support of management’s judgements and accounting estimates
• Support divisional and departmental budgeting and forecasting
• Responsibility for the business planning and forecasting, taking ownership of the budgeting model and completing as required
• Liaising with the relevant leasing companies
• Treasury management – cash flow review, currency, bank contacts etc
• Assist in due diligence process, including financial modelling
• Liaise with Group Tax & Compliance Manager on any tax issues
• Stay updated on relevant accounting standards. Regulatory requirements, and industry best practice
• Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Finance Group

Competencies to perform the role
• Competent in the use of technology with excellent IT skills, Excel and Word are essential
• Ability to display high levels of numeracy and literacy ability
• An ability to gather, analyse and present financial information in a user friendly manner
• Organisational skills having the ability to manage conflicting priorities
• Enthusiastic and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others
• Able to work under pressure, on own initiative and constantly seek to improve
• Good communication skills to interact with other departments
• Be self-motivated with the ability to lead, manage and develop the team to ensure the most efficient delivery of service
• Comfortable presenting and reporting to senior management

The Person

Experience and Qualifications
• Qualified Accountant with Big 4 audit training background
• Minimum 5 years PQE
• Excellent financial acumen and commercial awareness
• Knowledge of ERP Systems and Microsoft Excel is essential
• Experience in Group Consolidation Essential

• Flexibility as the role will be varied
