My client is seeking to appoint a Graduate / Trainee Accountant on a permanent basis.

The client will offer a Hybrid Working model.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Master Data set up process for new finished/saleable products (5 digit codes)
  • Ensure all relevant data on the product set-up request form is complete and accurate
  • Ensure that all necessary approvals have been obtained (Quality, NPD, Costing, Commercial)
  • Input master data on relevant systems and notify interested parties with the details when complete
  • Manage master data set up process for new parts (components - ingredients, meat) and semi-finished products (f-codes)
  • Ensure all relevant data on the part/product set-up form is complete and accurate
  • Input master data on relevant systems
  • Input/Update the purchase price for meat, packaging and ingredients on system
  • Provide support to costing department
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with new BOM set up (download report etc.)
  • Updated relevant data files for all new BOMs (standard cost report)
  • Complete meat, packaging/ ingredient changes/updates on existing BOMS. e.g., Flash codes, substitute packaging etc.
  • Assist in inter-site trade data maintenance – master data updates in all relevant systems
  • Assist in Time and Motion studies for calculation of labour inputs into BOMS
  • Assist in ensuring that adequate stock control processes are in place.
  • Daily and weekly yield reporting
  • Extract Data from Emydex system, check data integrity and calculate daily yields
  • Calculate weekly yields, analysing the results and liaise with Operations and Process functions to understand yield variances.
  • Input into yield variances for budgeting and forecasting based on historic data and liaison with Operations and Process Functions
  • Stock Control
  • Assist in ensuring that adequate stock control processes are in place.
  • Work with operations in ensuring that transactions are played accurately and timely
  • Ensure that proper cut -off procedures are in place and all stock is counted regularly and accurately
  • Ensure adequate focus and control over stock aging, stock in hold locations etc.
  • Ensure all stock accounts balance
  • Overheads reporting
  • Analysis of overhead spends and variances to budget and quarterly forecast

The Person

Key Skills:

  • Business / Accounting Qualification
  • Strong excel skills
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people from different functional backgrounds
  • Attention to detail is pivotal for this role
  • Structured work practices – methodical and organised
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical points in ‘plain English’
  • An ability to meaningfully engage with non-finance colleagues
  • Should have the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to manage conflicting priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and a changing environment
  • Experience in financial accounting and reporting
  • A problem solver who adapts to challenges
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
  • Fluency of English both written and verbal
  • Computer literacy and a high level of Excel expertise essential
