The Role

Financial Controller - Remote with European travel
Attractive Salary & Benefits package 
Responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and finance functions within the Europe and MENA region.
Primary responsibilities include supervision of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in addition to providing key financial support to the President of the region. This includes providing detailed, timely and articulate analysis of accounting and finance issues as they pertain to the region.  The controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate. This includes the standardization of the financial reporting across all the entities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage, coach, develop, and provide direction for a team of local finance/accounting leaders across multiple European sites
• Review, summarize, analyze, and report site-level financial data, operational metrics, tax/currency exchange impacts into a standard reporting package to be communicated to shareholders
• Oversite of the preparation of workpapers to support the monthly close process and month end balances by site accounting/finance personnel
• Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
• Preparation of workpapers supporting the annual tax return and coordination of the annual tax return with outside CPA firm.
• Review and record journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity
• Preparation of monthly financial statements, including commentary on drivers
• Supervise asset management, incentive fees, acquisition, disposition, and other fees monthly, quarterly, annually in accordance with the respective agreements
• Maintenance of fixed asset records for coordinate quarterly inventory of fixed assets with the information technology department
• Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
• Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Accurate and timely production of all financial information
• Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

SAP experience is preferred
Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex legal and financial information
Able to read and interpret agreements, then implement the relevant provisions of these agreements
Detailed, organized and communicative
Understanding, yet persuasive and decisive when dealing with others in the organization
Responsive team player with ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks
Task and goal oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting
Extensive travel will be required within the region in the first 6 months in the role in order to gain an understanding of nuances/opportunities at each site. After on-boarding period, 30-40% travel will be required to support sites within the region
Experience:
Recognized qualification from professional body
7+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector
7+ years experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
7+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities
Strong experience in both the private and public accounting sectors preferred
