The Role
This is a full-time role with opportunity for career progression, where CPD requirements will be identified and supported. It will also suit a person who can work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude. The appointed candidate will be a member of the senior management team , reporting directly to the Financial Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the day-to-day aspects of the finance function.
Ensuring work is undertaken accurately, timely, and efficiently along with sustained engagement and motivation.
Processing of all financial transactions for the company to trial balance level including the Accounts Payable and Credit Control functions.
Contributing to the review of accounts processes to drive system optimisation and process improvement including the automation of processes and procedures;
Managing the cash of the business and producing monthly and quarterly cash forecasts.
Preparing monthly management accounts including month end journals, analysis, KPI’s and submission to the Board for approval.
Managing the Accounts Payable function, ensuring all supplier invoices are processed, ensuring suppliers are paid to terms, statement reconciliations are completed, and invoices are filed and stored correctly.
Managing the Credit Control function, ensuring debt is chased on a regular basis, cash is posted to customer accounts, statements are issued, disputes are resolved, and issues are flagged to senior management.
Assisting in the production of the annual budget for the business along with monthly and quarterly profit and loss and balance sheet forecasts.
Assisting in the preparation of revenue submissions including VAT, tax and other government submissions such as national statistics.
Carry out daily operations, including compliance with financial regulations and all policies and procedures;
Assist in the planning and co-ordination of year end auditing processes;
Prepare ad-hoc tasks including Reports for Management as and when required;
Liaising with Management in addressing issues central to and which impact on the finance function
Liaise with external service providers as required;
Support other financial activities as requested by the Finance Director
The Person
Skills and Experience
Extensive financial accounting experience to trial balance and management level
Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or qualified by experience Accountant
Strong knowledge and experience of accounting systems (SAP B1), Excel etc
Extensive understanding of finance systems and required controls
Excellent understanding of Processes / Accounting Principles
Accuracy and high-level attention to detail
Experience of working within a busy finance environment
Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
