The Role

Accounts Payable / Payroll Specialist

Kildare - Permanent

Salary: €35,000 - €40,000

Hybrid Working after probation

 

My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable / Payroll Specialist on a permanent basis.

Candidates must have a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role.

 

An IPASS Qualification would be a distinct advantage

Experience of using Sage Payroll and Exchequer would also be an advantage

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing weekly and monthly payroll processes for staff including processing of overtime, statutory leave entitlement (approximately 80 employees) utilizing Sage Payroll software.
  • Managing quarterly payroll processing of directors’ fees and expenses.
  • Managing payroll real time filing with Revenue.
  • Managing pension deductions and payments.
  • Processing employee Expense & Credit Card reconciliation, dealing with staff queries.
  • Ensuring accurate setup information, maintaining best practice processing methods and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Overseeing the Accounts Payable process including compliance with internal PO and approval requirements.
  • Processing/paying purchase invoices using Exchequer Accounting Software and EFT.
  • Ensuring invoices are processed correctly for Vat and Professional Services withholding tax requirements.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements and addressing supplier queries while working closely with other departments.
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Preparing financial information for external and internal auditors and engaging with them on various finance-related matters.
  • Fulfilling requests for other finance data or reports as directed by the Financial Controller or CEO

The Person

Key Skills:

  • A minimum of four - five years’ experience in an account payable role, demonstrating a clear understanding of accounting principles and financial operations.
  • Strong experience in processing Payroll, and knowledge of Sage Payroll would be very beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Excel is essential and strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with various financial software packages, with a preference for experience in Exchequer Accounting Software.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,
