Senior Accounts Payable

Dublin 12 - Permanent

Salary: €50,000 - €55,000 + Benefits

Office Based Role

 

My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Accounts Payable person on a permanent basis.

This person would be managing one other junior member of staff.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years' experience in a Senior Accounts Payable role or an Accounts Payable Supervisor role.

Strong Excel skills are required for this position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Review and oversee the processing of invoices for payment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Continuously monitor vendor accounts and reconcile them to ensure payment accuracy while promptly addressing discrepancies.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process the monthly payment run.
  • Recordkeeping and Documents: Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records. Assist with the archiving of financial documents for audit and compliance with company policies.
  • Expense Reports: Assist employees in the preparation and submission of expense reports.
  • Verify expense reports for accuracy and compliance with compliance with company policies
  • Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable. Provide necessary reports and documentation for financial reporting.
  • Support: Provide general support to the finance department and assist with ad-hoc financial tasks. Provide leadership and guidance within the Accounts Payable Department to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.

The Person

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Senior Accounts Payable or Accounts Payable Supervisor role.
  • People management experience required.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Previous experience in the motor industry is desired.
  • Experience working with European VAT regulations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Skilled in people management with the ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
  • Excellent data entry and organizational skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work them in a team.
