HR Generalist
Permanent - Co.Westmeath
Salary: €40,000 - €50,000 DOE
The HR Generalist will have responsibility for a full range of HR activities at this manufacturing site, and provide support and guidance to supervisory, middle and senior managers in all aspects of Human Resources Management. S/he will be the site subject matter expert regarding best practice HR processes and provide daily support to managers and employees across the site.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting line managers in their HR responsibilities.
- Managing end-to end Recruitment, Induction and, when necessary, exit processes
- HR Administration - maintain compliant personnel records, issue contracts etc
- H.R.I.S – maintain data accuracy & integrity, and leverage functionality (eg reporting capability) to support the business and people related initiatives.
- Review and develop best practice HR policies and procedures for the site.
- Resource planning and absence management.
- Performance management – supporting managers and supervisors in the implementation of a pragmatic and value add approach to individual appraisals, ensuring everyone at every level understands their role and what is expected of them.
- Working closely with the Technical (Quality) Department to ensure Training and Development plans for the site are in place and delivered on and robust records maintained.
- Championing a positive Employee Relations environment by ensuring timely & professional management of individual issues, co-ordinating effective monthly Employee Forum meetings, identifying opportunities for positive engagement and promoting openness and accessibility
The Person
Requirements:
- A relevant Third Level Qualification preferably in Human Resources Management
- A minimum 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience gained within an HR function with exposure to a broad range of HR activities; ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- A track record of hands on experience of managing Employee Relations, HR policies and best practices together with an up to date understanding of employment law and its implications in practice – a relevant qualification (eg. Diploma in Employment Law) being advantageous.
- Proficiency in IT with knowledge of HR related systems
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- The ability to communicate at all levels and build positive working relationships.
- A pragmatic, approachable style with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
